Use:
- dry charcoals or briquettes of suitable sizes.
- Put some charcoal or briquettes into the caddy from the top and cover a layer of the charcoals or briquettes on the heating element.
- Connect the Chimney to an electrical outlet with an earthing contact.
- Stack more charcoals or briquettes in the caddy once the layer of the charcoal or briquettes are partially heated.
- After 10-15 minutes, disconnect the unit from the mains.
- Leave the charcoals or briquettes for few minutes in the caddy to make them smoldering.
- Pour the charcoals or briquettes from the top of the caddy. Ensure that the power cord does not touch the caddy with high temperature.
- Place the electric chimney starter away from the barbecue and never put it back onto the heated grill.
- Distribute the smoldering coals on the barbecue.
