Use:

  • dry charcoals or briquettes of suitable sizes. 
  • Put some charcoal or briquettes into the caddy from the top and cover a layer of the charcoals or briquettes on the heating element. 
  • Connect the Chimney to an electrical outlet with an earthing contact.
  • Stack more charcoals or briquettes in the caddy once the layer of the charcoal or briquettes are partially heated. 
  • After 10-15 minutes, disconnect the unit from the mains.
  • Leave the charcoals or briquettes for few minutes in the caddy to make them smoldering. 
  • Pour the charcoals or briquettes from the top of the caddy. Ensure that the power cord does not touch the caddy with high temperature.
  • Place the electric chimney starter away from the barbecue and never put it back onto the heated grill. 
  • Distribute the smoldering coals on the barbecue.
